Principal/Owner

Lisa Hurst BA(Hons), AUKA, RT BBO

From an early age I have always loved dancing and I trained in Ballet, Tap and Musical Theatre. In 2009 I graduated from the University of Central Lancashire with a BA (Hons) in Dance, Performance and Teaching. Since graduating I have gained my Level 3 qualification Freedom in Dance - Leading Dance with Older People, my Associate (Teaching Qualification) with the United Kingdom Alliance of Dance (UKA) and my Progressive Ballet Technique Certification.

I have worked for dance organisations including Dance4, Lincolnshire Dance, Arts NK and CfBT - the school improvement service as well as various schools delivering dance across the East Midlands. Using the knowledge I have gained whilst performing and teaching, I continue to develop my skills in acquiring different dance and fitness qualifications including PBT (Ballet Technique), Alixa Flexibility Module 1 and 2 certified, Peaceful Babes Yoga, Acrotrix as well as Ballroom Blitz, Zumba and Cheerleading. I regularly undertake training in all styles of dance and safeguarding to ensure that I am teaching the safest and best techniques I can.

I have performed across the UK with many different choreographers including Helen Ganberg, Katie Green, Ludas Dance and Retina Dance Company in RAUW as well as producing my own site specific work Perception (2010), Different Perceptions (2011) and Bathing Beauties (2012).

Lisa teaches various dance forms in fusion sessions and standalone sessions including Ballet, Tap, Lyrical, Jazz, Ballroom Blitz (Ballroom and Latin), Bollywood, Burlesque, Barre fitness, Contemporary, Cheerleading, Charleston,  Jazz,  Commerical, Street Dance plus many more.

Lisa Hurst Dance is currently a member of UKA Dance. This allows us to enter candidates for examinations and medal tests. We are also members of CDET (Council for Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre). CDMT provides quality assurance.
